About
Mission:
· Protect the attractive "small town" atmosphere that makes the Junction Urban Village Hub an attractive place to live, work, and play
· Advocate neighborhood quality-of-life issues and respond to issues such as safety, traffic, sidewalks and lighting, graffiti, litter, landscaping and beautification, noise and lighting pollution, etc.
· Foster community, communication and dialogue with neighbors
· Encourage advocacy and involvement in local projects and events which benefit the community
· Establish communication through regular newsletters, a website, quarterly meetings, and other neighborhood activities
· Preserve current zoning and promote architectural review for projects which safeguard the character and scale of the neighborhood
· Maintain a close working relationship and open lines of communication between the City Council, Planning Commission and other relevant government entities
· Support and promote small locally-owned and controlled businesses as well as business development within the Junction Urban Village commercial core that is in keeping with the West Seattle Junction Neighborhood Plan and is in character with both the historic fabric and the best future interests of the neighborhood
Membership:
Each residential owner within the Junction Urban Village Hub has the right to be a member, to attend meetings, vote, run for office, and receive any and all rights and privileges granted to other members. Tenants and business owners and representatives of businesses from within the Urban Hub may attend general meetings but do not have voting rights and may neither run for nor hold office.
Participation:
Membership in JuNO is not a prerequisite for participation in organization events and activities.
